USA Today’s The Sneak

A violent robbery. A bizarre getaway. A once great football star turned criminal mastermind. It was the perfect modern American crime story. There was only one problem: It wasn’t the real story at all. This is the story behind USA Today’s debut True Crime podcast, The Sneak Season One.

The real story, however, was me spending 200 hours in an edit bay with USA Today and For The Win Editor Nate Scott, listening through hundreds of hours of interviews, reading transcriptions, and helping his team manipulate sound to craft a Top 25 podcast in the world.

Our team was comprised of researchers, writers, producers and me - the sound guy tasked with putting it all together and making it sound pretty. It was an incredible opportunity to put my audio engineering background and skills to work as this 9-part podcast season has a lot to offer.

Give it a listen wherever you get your podcasts and see what this team accomplished in the Summer of 2019.
